R7s 78mm
Robin Carr asks
I have two old lamps that use Halogen J78 R7 dimmable bulbs. I think the wattage is 150w. The bulb unit is a clear glass cylinder, so the light is 360 degrees rather than a directional down light or up light. I want to replace them with an LED equivalent. Can you advise, please?
As LEDs are more energy-efficient they tend not to match like-for-like wattages in R7 bulbs our brightest 78mm R7 bulb is the Osram superstar at 11.5W although equivalent to a 100W halogen it offers a significantly better light output at 1521 lumens. This lumens output will match the light output of 150W halogen see the link below

If you were to purchase this lamp and it wasn’t up to the standard you were after, we would be happy to provide a free return service or swop it for a different one, but I’m very confident this lamp will perform to the expectation you described in the question earlier.
Any problems please feel free to get in touch.
